The cloud is growing but few companies really know how to exploit it 3
A new survey by Cisco shows how the adoption of the cloud in the company is experiencing ever-increasing growth, but the real maturity on this side is still the prerogative of a few.
It is called Cloud Going Mainstream: All Are Trying, Some Are Benefiting; Few Are Maximizing Value and is a new report from Cisco focused on the adoption of the cloud by companies. Adoption is certainly going through a period of strong growth, but despite this there are still few companies that can really take advantage of the benefits offered by a cloud infrastructure.

If 68% of the companies involved in the survey went to the cloud to increase business opportunities, with a 61% increase compared to last year’s report data, 69% do not yet have a truly robust cloud strategy matures and only 3% managed to optimize this strategy generating business results.
It is also interesting to note that companies that have a mature cloud strategy find an annual benefit for each clud-based application of about 3 million dollars, to which an additional one million derived from cost savings must be added.

Income derived mainly from faster acquisition of new customers and greater ability to sell in new markets, without forgetting another determining factor such as the sale of new products and services. In addition, 95% of mature and optimized cloud companies have created a hybrid IT environment with several public and private clouds based on economic, localization and government policies.
However, to achieve this level of maturity applied to the cloud, companies, according to the report, still have to overcome various obstacles such as the lack of functionality and skills, well-defined strategies and roadmaps, silos legacy organizational structures and IT / LOB misalignment.
